Our Story
The year was 1976. The Eagles won a Grammy for “Lyin’
Eyes”, Viking 1 landed on Mars and George Lucas was
ready to release Star Wars. In Toronto, two Cockfield
Brown execs named Lester Whiting and Lyle Holmes took
on a Galaxy of their own. They started an agency and
called it Whiting & Holmes.
Although Lester and Lyle thought self-employment might
be a pleasant way to while away the hours, a few new
clients had other ideas. Business boomed, the guys made
money and life was good.
A decade later, enter a young upstart by the name of
Jones. Lyle had thrown in the towel long before and
Lester was ready to pass on the sceptre. And so it was,
this modern day Luke Skywalker was left to make his
own mark on the Empire. The rest, as they say, was history.
Allen ran the company like the Crusader he is; seeking
new ground, conquering challenges as they came. He even
invited his first born to join him in the battle to
shape the fate of the marketing and take it to a whole
new level. And so it is today, almost 30 years later
– the Force continues.
